Bezienswaardigheden Alkmaar

Alkmaar is een historische stad met ruim duizend gemeentelijke en rijksmonumenten. De stad staat algemeen bekend als “Kaasstad”. Dit komt door de traditionele kaasmarkt die van begin april tot eind september elke vrijdag wordt georganiseerd. De stad staat verder bekend om zijn vele hofjes, zoals het Hof van Sonoy uit de 16e eeuw en het Wildemanshofje.

Het is een erg leuke stad om te bezoeken als je van historische panden houdt. Langs de grachten vind je veel monumenten uit de zestiende tot negentiende eeuw. Ook kun je een bezoek brengen aan een leuk museum, zoals bijvoorbeeld het Stedelijk Museum, het Nationaal Biermuseum of het Kaasmuseum. Houd je van winkelen? Ook dan ben je in het gezellige centrum van Alkmaar aan het juiste adres.
